Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer today on our 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4XE. We're gonna be showing you how to install the Roadmaster base plate kit with removal arms. But before we do that, why don't we check it out and make sure this is gonna be the right setup for you. Before we jump right in and start talking about the base plate, I figured it'd be useful just to kind of touch base and refresh ourselves on the main parts that we're gonna need to flat to our Jeep down the road in the first place. There's gonna be a total of five main parts. The first one's gonna be the base plate and that's gonna provide us with a solid and reliable attachment point. more

Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit Installation - 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Hey everybody, how's it going Today, We're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Demco tabless base plate kit here on a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So a base plate kit is just gonna be one of the many things that we need in order to successfully flat tow our Jeep here. Now what the base plate kit does is this serves as a permanent connection between the motor home and our vehicle. So this actually is going to attach to our tow bar and our tow bar is what connects to the motor home, so it's gonna serve as sort of a quick disconnect point so you can easily detach your motor home from your vehicle when you need to head into town. So this is what our base plate kit looks like when it's installed on the vehicle here and we don't have our tow bar hooked up. Now, couple things I wanna point out is the finish on the base plate kit. more

Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit Installation - 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster front base plate on a 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Now, this is what it's gonna look like when it's installed. You can see here there's a spot cut open for where the arms actually can go in, same with the safety chain loop. And the great part it actually comes with a nice bracket that utilizes the factory mounting points under here, and that's gonna allow you to get your breakaway switch and your diode wiring attached. Now it is gonna work with your factory lock guard. It's gonna take a little bit of cutting to obviously make it fit, but if you have the plastic or metal it doesn't matter, you can make it work. more

Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit Installation - 2021 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Hello neighbors it's Brad here etrailer. And today we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster baseplate on a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. So this is what the baseplate's gonna look like installed and actually hooked up in its flat tow set up. So you can see that it's pretty nice and spaced out here, allowing everything to kind of have some space to work around and actually attach our safety chain loops are nice and far enough away, but easy to actually clasp onto. And all of our connections with this included bracket are really nice because it puts it at a nice even spot in the middle using factory hole locations. Now and not in use, you can go ahead, drop this out and then you can actually remove these arms just by pulling this twisting. more

Hi there, Jeep owners. Today in your 2007 Jeep Wrangler, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Direct-Connect Base Plate. Most of our components are gonna be hidden behind our bumper and the rock guard that's located here with just our attachments sticking out the front. We do have the arms currently inserted and this is what you'll use to hook to your motor home. These arms are removable. They're secured with a hitch pinning clip just a five inch pin. more

Hey, everybody. How's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style base plate kit here on our 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So there's two different kinds of Roadmaster base plates available for your vehicle here, the Direct-Connect and then the Crossbar-Style, which is what we have here. So the Crossbar-Style is a great option for you if you wanna use Roadmaster's Rock Guardian, which is a vehicle protector, or if you have a tow bar that mounts on the vehicle when you're not using it. For those particular applications, you will have to use the Crossbar-Style. But you can also use the Crossbar-Style with any other tow bar just so long as you have this quick-connect. more

Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at installing the etrailer invisible base plate with removable arms on a 2018 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. So this is what your base plate is gonna look like when it's installed. And overall, it's got a pretty good look to it in the fact that the crossbar is actually hidden behind here and it really does look pretty decent on the Jeep as it doesn't protrude past the bumpers, but yet you can still get to all of your attachment points with no problem. So you're hooking up your safety chain loops. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Adapter to Extended D-ring Bumper Mounts to Roadmaster Tow Bars here on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So here's what our adapter looks like. And what this is gonna do is it's gonna allow you to attach a Roadmaster motorhome mounted tow bar. A motor home mounted tow bar is one that installs into the hitch receiver on the motorhome, and it gets stored there while not in use. A couple example of those motor home mounted tow bars is the Falcon 2, which is what we have here, the BlackHawk, the Sterling, and there's several others. And this is gonna allow us to attach to D-ring bumper mounts welded onto our off-road Jeep bumpers. more

It pokes right through the opening where your factory tow hook would go. So it gives it a nice clean look here at the front. I really liked it, obviously it made the installation quite a bit easier too, because you don't have to do a lot of trimming. It just kind of fits very well in this vehicle. more

The baseplate is going to be behind our fascia here, so it's gonna be mostly hidden with just our attachment points sticking through where the tow hooks used to be. We do have some cutouts here in the front that really aren't a hundred percent necessary. It does depend on the braking system and things that you've decided to install, if you're gonna use these components or not. more

We do need to make sure that we're abiding by compatibility with the tow bar. That's gonna be the main two things that have to work together, the base plates and the tow bar. For the Blue Ox base plate kit here, those are gonna be directly compatible with all of the motorhome-mounted Blue Ox tow bars. However, if you have some other tow bars, such as those from Roadmaster or Demco, there are available adaptor separately that you can purchase in order to make the two compatible. more

Today, on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Blue Ox base plate kit with removable arms. So, here's what our base plate's gonna look like once we have it installed on our Jeep Grand Cherokee. And this is gonna provide us a secure attachment point for our tow bar to hook up to whenever we're flat towing. And you can see that most of the brackets are gonna be hidden on the front of our Jeep. And when we're not towing, we can come to the tab, we can pull on the pull ring, rotate the tab, and we're gonna remove it. That way, it's a lot more cleaner look, and it's a lot more hidden. more

Hey everyone Shane here at etrailer.com. Today I have a 2020 Jeep Wrangler unlimited, and I had it has an off-road bumper on it. We're going to be showing you how to install the D-ring adapters for a roadmaster tow bar. D-ring adapters are going to be designed for bumpers like this; off-road bumpers. One thing to keep in mind is if you have an off-road bumper with D-rings on it, you need to contact the manufacturer make sure that the bumper is capable of towing. Because not all of them that have D-rings are capable of flat towing the vehicle behind our motor home, or being used to flat tow the vehicle. more

Hi, there Jeep owners stay in your 2017 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. We're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install a Curt's base plate. And this is what our base plate looks like when it's installed you will be able to see the entire cross tube and base plate underneath the bumper, But I actually liked the way it looks. It kind of adds an aggressive look to the front of your Jeep. It makes it like you're doing something special with this one. On each end that you're going to have your attachment point for your tabs, where you'll connect your tow bar, as well as the location for your safety cables to attach to, sounds like some of the other manufacturers they provide a minor location for your wiring and your breakaway switch for your braking system. more

On each side, you're gonna have an attachment point for your tow bar to click into as well as a place for your safety cables to attach. It's gonna be hidden behind the bumper. Other than these components that pass through, there is gonna be some trimming required to get this to pass through. Now, if your vehicle has tow hooks then you may not need to do any trimming, it may just fit right into place. more

So when it's here, you really don't even notice it too much. So, I like that it doesn't detract from the looks of the vehicle, and provides us with our attachment points, so we can hook up to the back of our motor home, and flat tow it. more

Now our particular tow bar comes with safety cables but if yours doesn't or the one you're looking at doesn't you will need to pick up some of those as well because they aren't required component. A few of the other things is going to be a breaking system A lot of States now require a vehicle over a certain weight to use a supplemental braking system. So more often than not you're going to be required to use that in your state. more

Our connection for our tow bar does pass through our under shield here at the bottom, but it stays tucked up nicely underneath the bumper. So it doesn't detract from the looks of the vehicle. In my opinion, on your Jeep, it almost makes it look more aggressive, like you really have something that you're going to be doing with this Jeep. The points where it passes through are going to give you an attachment point for your crossbar style arm, as well as a safety chain attachment right here on the side. more
